Meet two new locally owned businesses that opened their doors in Kailua Town this month.

Uloha
Kailua Town Center
609 Kailua Rd #103A

Hawai‘i’s Largest Outdoor Outfitter

Whether you’re into hiking or trail running, backpacking or camping, Uloha has established itself as THE place to go for the largest selection of top-notch gear suited for Hawai‘i’s outdoor adventures.

When the company asked its customers where to open Uloha’s second location, they raised their hiking poles for Kailua Town. “We offer Osprey backpacks; Salomon, HOKA, and Altra shoes; Jetboil camp fuel and stoves; ENO hammocks; Big Agnes tents; and most everything you need from head to toe to get outdoors and stay safe,” says owner Justin Brackett.

(In case you were wondering, ULOHA is an acronym for Uncle’s Local Outfitter of Hawaiian Adventures.)

Prime Martial Arts
776 Kailua Rd #101

A Prime Location for Martial Arts

Kailua-raised mixed martial artist and former UFC fighter Martin Day has wanted his own martial arts school since childhood. That life-long dream came true this summer when he took over the ownership of the Martial Arts Company, the Kailua-based school where Martin grew up training and eventually working as a master instructor. In August the school moved into a new Kailua location with a new name: Prime Martial Arts.

Perpetuating the legacy of Martial Arts Company, the school champions life skills that develop dynamic martial artists and build a foundation for success on and off the mats: respect, discipline, focus, goal-setting, and others. Programs are offered for adults and children as young as two-and-a-half.
