Psst! Summer Fun Isn’t Over Yet!

By July 19, 2024No Comments

There are several weeks of summer left, and the merchants at Kailua Beach Center have the gear, grinds, apparel and ocean adventures to help you enjoy the sun, sand, and sea to the max.

Fashion Finds

Adding to its already extensive selection of Brazilian- and Peruvian-made swimwear, San Lorenzo Bikinis has unveiled three new collections in as many months: the Essential Solids collection of buttery-soft SL styles in 12 stunning colors;  the groundbreaking Adapta Bikini collection, offering 10 different looks from one piece; and by popular demand, a Keiki collection relaunch with mother-daughter match-ups. Hot summer tip: find bikinis on sale for as low as $20 through July.

Find favorite surf and lifestyle brands for him and her at Island Snow and Kailua Beach Adventures, including swimwear, tees and tops, and aloha apparel and accessories. Inside the Sunrise Shack you’ll find a Mokulua Surf Co. boutique with its popular “twin islands” graphic tees, hoodies, and boardshorts.

Ready for an eyewear update? Look to the recently opened Honolulu Sunglass which boasts the largest selection of in-demand sunglass brands in the state, including 400+ Maui Jim styles.

Ocean Gear and On-the-Water Fun

The name says it all: Kailua Beach Adventures is Kailua Town’s go-to purveyor of ocean-centered fun with a focus on low-impact, eco-conscious operations. Hosting out-of-town visitors or planning an end-of-summer beach day with the family? Kailua Beach Adventures rents and sells a variety of water sports equipment and accessories, including snorkeling gear, paddleboards and kayaks. SUP lessons and guided kayak tours to Popoi‘a Island and the Mokuluas are also offered. Hot tip: Kama‘aina receive 25% off all rentals and tours when booking online.

Food On-the-Go

From morning coffee and cool summer treats to pizza-night faves, Kailua Beach Center’s four food establishments cover cravings all day long.

Every day is a good day when it includes organic bullet coffee, superfoods smoothies and bowls from The Sunrise Shack. If a classic plate lunch is your go-to meal, drop into K&K Bar-B Que where the mixed plate, garlic shrimp and BBQ short ribs top the popularity list. Some of the best pizza in Kailua can be found at Bob’s Pizzeria which serves up authentic Boston-style pizza by the slice or whole 19” pie. Island Snow has grown its name with its branded clothing line, but shave ice – with 30-plus flavors – remains the foundation of this family-run business and a refreshing way to wrap up a day at the beach.
