A Small Town with a Big Heart

Kailua Town is a thriving community today thanks to the many residents, service groups, clubs and civic-minded businesses that are passionate about keeping Kailua a safe, attractive and healthy place to live and visit.

Giving Back

For well over a century, Alexander & Baldwin has donated generously to the communities in which we do business and where our employees live and work – a practice established by Alexander & Baldwin’s founding fathers, Samuel T. Alexander and Henry Perrine Baldwin – and perpetuated by Company leadership ever since. Click here to learn more.

Artful Ambling

Part of the fun of strolling through Kailua Town is discovering its rich collection of public art that graces street corners, plazas and building facades. Whimsical sculptures, colorful ceramic mosaics, paintings and carved art panels created by local artists depict Kailua’s flora, fauna and beach-town lifestyle.

The beautiful ‘living wall’ that spans a side of Whole Foods Market with some 1,350 native Hawaiian and tropical plants is a conversation piece for passers-by. It’s all in keeping with Kailua Town’s pedestrian-friendly design and commitment to art in public places.

You can find your own art treasures to take home in a number of Kailua shops.
