Find Your Fashion in Kailua Town

By September 2, 2022April 27th, 2023No Comments

Two new apparel shops and a continuous inflow of new inventory at boutiques around the neighborhood keep Kailua Town’s fashion scene on trend. We dropped into a handful of shops for intel on what’s new and what’s to come as summer turns to fall. Here’s what we found:

Tori Richard Opens Kailua Shop

The drive over the Pali to check out new arrivals at Tori Richard is now a thing of the past with the July opening of the company’s newest store in Kailua Village Shops.  Find a wide selection of Tori Richard’s resort wear designs you’ll love. Known for one-of-a-kind prints and exceptional fabrications, their men’s and women’s collections also include a variety of travel-inspired accessories. With a small offering of boy’s shirts and girl’s dresses, this is the perfect stop for all.

Chic Comfort at Gillia

Gillia designer-owner Saori Santos melds simplicity with sophistication in styles that take you from poolside to date night, including the newly arrived Imari caftan-style coverup in luscious fall colors like wasabi, coral and mocha. Also find short and long dresses, shirts, pants and sarongs in gauzy cotton, linen and rayon. New styles arrive almost weekly, and September will bring a line of girls’ clothing.

Finding Paradiso at Fighting Eel

Fighting Eel’s newly released Paradiso collection has landed. Available in three color ways – Sunset, Gardenia and Ocean – many of the designer’s favorite things about Hawaii show up in this whimsical “Hawaii-Bohemian” print: palm trees and seashells, shave ice and slippers. A range of styles, from tops and pants to dresses and jumpers, are available in woven rayon or FE’s signature jersey fabric. Elevate your look with a bit of ROLA, FE’s inhouse line of fine jewelry, made of 14k gold with precious and semi-precious stones, and available only instore.

Weekly Arrivals at Mahina

With weekly arrivals of new merchandise, let’s just say Mahina has you covered, from comfy crop tops and tanks, go-to jean shorts and sundresses to versatile vacay pants, sassy rompers and silky maxis. And prices go easy on the wallet. Hot tip: You’ll find a bigger selection instore than what’s available at Mahina’s online store.

Holiday Peeks at Classic Waves Boutique

Classic Waves Boutique owner Lori Goodgame loves to highlight businesses that do good, like David Shepard Hawaii, a collection of Hawaii-made apparel featuring Hawaii horticulturalist-artist David Shepard’s stunning hand-drawn fabrics. Aloha shirts and dresses tell a visual story about Hawaii’s native flora and fauna, giving voice – and part of the proceeds – to conservation efforts. Goodgame also gives a sneak peek into the holidays with new arrivals from some of her favorite European brands: lacy tops and dresses from Choklate; dreamy handmade, hand-screened kimonos and scarves from One Hundred Stars; and embellished special occasion dresses and gowns from Jywal London.
