This Holiday Season We’re Thinking “Small”

By November 26, 2024No Comments

Kailua Town’s 125-plus shops and restaurants and convenient parking add up to a stress-free destination for holiday shopping. With dozens of locally owned small businesses, it’s easy to find unique gifts for everyone on your list, from keiki to kupuna (and canines, too).

We did some of the leg work for you during a recent stroll through Kailua Town. The rest of the exploring is up to you! And mark your calendar for two upcoming shopping events you won’t want to miss: Black Friday Weekend and our annual Holiday Sip + Shop event.

Happy holidays!

Fun Finds Around Kailua Town

We dropped into Uloha, Hawaii’s largest outdoor outfitter, to get gift-giving tips for the practical, hiker-backpacker-camping types. Topping the list of customer favorites: Uloha’s large selection of portable water filters, from pocket-sized purifiers to the unrivaled Grayl Geopress that removes all the bad stuff, from waterborne pathogens and chemicals to sediment and heavy metals. Also popular: the “Aloha Chair,” Uloha’s lightweight but durable mesh chair that folds up into a compact pouch to carry to the campsite or the soccer game sideline. Then what to our wondering eyes did appear? A colorful display of Kala Brand ukulele, including the take-anywhere water-resistant Waterman and Waterman glow-in-the-dark models and the Surfari Ukadelic® soprano uke featuring a Mokulua Islands graphic.

Stocking Stuffers Galore

Looking for stocking stuffers or a Secret Santa gift for the office party? Mini desktop reed diffusers from Lanikai Bath and Body are available in three holiday scents. Also, check out the charming Twin Islands car diffuser/ornaments. They are available in floral and holiday fragrances and are ready to hang on the rearview mirror or on your artificial Christmas tree.  We also love the Twin Islands Perfume Bracelets, crafted with a stretchy shell band and attractive medallion with refillable fragrance pads.

Artful Ideas

There’s always something new to discover at Lauren Roth where this prolific Kailua artist applies her colorful Hawaii-inspired designs to apparel and accessories, home goods, stationery and more. Her limited-edition hand-painted ornaments are always popular, and cheerful tea towels, journals, tote bags, and coffee mugs are equally gift-worthy.

Got Kids?

SoHa Keiki is your destination for Kailua Town’s most extensive selection of thoughtful games and toys, apparel, gear and accessories, from newborns to pre-teens.

Canine Kalikimaka

Dogtown Bakery is ready for the “Pawlidays” with adorable – and healthy – treats for favorite fur babies, including decorative Christmas cookies with an aloha vibe. Other pup-pleasers are gift boxes filled with festive cookie treats and Dogtown’s selection of toys and pet apparel.
