If you love scavenger hunts, look no further than Kailua Town to find a free family adventure – and treats for keiki – this Halloween season! Kailua Town’s popular and socially distanced Seek & Treat event returns with a fun new theme centered on a mythical maker of local confections: Kailua Town Candy Co.
The adventure begins at the Candy Laboratory display near the fountain outside California Pizza Kitchen. Choose the day you want to play from October 23 to 31, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. each day, then set off on a quest with your smartphone to scan codes, find hidden letters and solve the riddles that lead you to locations around town. Along the way you’ll discover the story of the magical candy factory and the favorite treats it makes. Costumes are encouraged as there will be opportunities for photo ops at each of four whimsical Kailua Town Candy Co. displays.
At the final stop, solve the simple wordplay with the hidden letters to reveal the magic word that earns kids a bundle of popular local treats.
Oh, and there’s a prize drawing for grownups, too! Anyone 18 and older can enter to win a $250 gift package that includes a Kailua Beach Adventures “Pali” cooler filled with gift cards and merchandise from Kailua Town merchants. How cool is that?
